Pre-Arrival Setup

Welcome home!

This session is paw-fect for those welcoming a new puppy or dog to the home and even for those pooches who are moving house (or recently moved) with their human.

If you'd like impartial and independent help setting up the environment for your dog, to lower stress for you and for your dog Paws-Ability are here to assist.

What's included: 

  • Look at areas inside and outside your house​​ to help you make it dog friendly

  • Selection of appropriate sleeping / rest area(s) for your dog

  • Review of "no-go" zones

  • Review of equipment etc needed for your dog

    • Leads, collars, harnesses - what's best for you and your dog? 

    • Crate / mat / bedding

    • water bowl

    • barriers / baby/puppy gates

    • toys and more!

  • Arrival / Settling in 

  • Meeting new people

  • Sleep time

  • Supervision inside / outside the home

  • What happens when you're out / at work?

  • Enrichment activity suggestions

  • Your dog's own "Life Folder" - inside will be information​​ about

    • Helping your dog settle in​

    • Sun / heat care

    • Dangerous foods for your dog

    • Tips

    • Equipment list

    • Local council contact details (for registration etc)

    • Additional reading suggestions

    • Plenty of room for you to add your own notes, handouts etc

This session is 45 minutes in length. Team it up with a block of 10 puppy training sessions and we'll give your pooch a free snuffle mat and treats..
